Drafting and Planning - Trial Recording 1

As I am not familiar to working with cameras, I decided to go to my location and carry out some trial recordings.

In this recording, I stood at the top of the stairs and recorded my actor running down the stairs away from the evil character. I used a high angle shot to make my actor look weak and vulnerable. The high angle shot also shows the many different staircases highlighting that this was not an easy escape route.

I also used a canted angle to create a frantic feel - the girl is being chased and is trying to escape quickly.

I also got my actor to make panting noises and look back often when running down the stairs. This was to show the audience that she is scared and to give the impression of someone chasing her.

Overall, I am happy with this recording. However, when recording for my final trailer I may quicken the pace to emphasise even more the feeling of fear.
